Blackburn Rovers' board are set to make a decision over the future of manager Paul Ince.
The directors will meet with chairman John Williams admitting: "The board will make the decisions it feels is in the best interests of the club."
Rovers are deep in the relegation mire after a run of 10 league games without a win.
Williams is keen to stand by his man but other board members want to act quickly as they fear the dire consequences of relegation.
The Jersey-based trustees of late owner Jack Walker are keen to sell the club and are also increasingly worried about Rovers' plight.
