Birtles backing Nottingham Forest move for Liverpool midfielder Ojo

Nottingham Forest legend Garry Birtles is backing their move for Liverpool midfielder Sheyi Ojo.

Birtles thinks a temporary switch to his former club would be a wise move for all concerned.

He told Nottinghamshire Live: "Yes, you want to play for Liverpool, of course you do, but you also have to be realistic.

"If you're not playing, your career can soon go down the pan if you don't make that break away, people will soon forget about you if you mope around and sit on your backside.

"There's no shame in moving on to seek regular football especially if you're moving to a club like Forest.

"It would be tremendous if the Reds (Forest) could get him to come and the experience he would have garnered from winning promotion at Fulham could be vital to them this season with hopes of challenging for a place in the top flight.

"They might already have plenty of options going forward, but you're always looking to improve and he'd be a welcome addition.

"Again, it looks like Forest have been doing all the right things in the transfer window this summer and their pre-season build-up which can only bode well.

"Ojo would be quite a coup, so here' hoping that's a deal they can do."
