Birmingham were willing to sell Bellingham to Liverpool

Liverpool made a bid for Jude Bellingham when he was a Birmingham City junior.

TheAthletic reports Liverpool could have landed Bellingham almost a decade ago.

The teenager was playing at Under-11 level when Liverpool invited him for a two-day trial at Kirkby.

Bellingham blew the coaches and scouts away with his talent.

And an offer quickly came in for the youngster to join Liverpool. The grand total of the transfer would have come in at £9,000.

However, it required Bellingham's family to swap the Midlands for Merseyside.

And after much deliberation, they decided to stay put in Birmingham.

It's added that Liverpool respected the decision, and have been closely monitoring Borussia Dortmund star Bellingham's progress ever since.
