Birmingham City midfielder Alex Hleb stands by claims he turned down Tottenham and Liverpool for St Andrews.
The ex-Arsenal midfielder swapped the Champions League for St Andrew's when Alex McLeish got him on a season's loan from Barcelona on deadline day.
Hleb said: "I could have joined Liverpool but I didn't speak with them.
"My agent talked to the coach and that was it.
"Now I'm looking forward to playing against them."
Tottenham were another interested club and Hleb added: "My agent told me what teams I had to choose from and I decided to come to Birmingham. What did they do more than the other teams? It's a secret!"
