Birmingham ready to make offer for Valencia striker Zigic

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is ready to launch a bid for Valencia striker Nikola Zigic.

The Mirror says Zigic has been put up for sale for around £8m by his cash-strapped Spanish club Valencia, who paid nearly £20m for him from Racing Santander in 2007.

Zigic's agent Milan Calasan said: "I'm sure that Zigic will switch clubs in January if a good offer arrives.

"I can only say that with the crises going around, the price should be convenient for everyone and not too high."

Brum boss Alex McLeish watched Zigic in action against for Serbia against South Korea last month.
