Birmingham City are believed to be interested in former Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko.
With the takeover of Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung providing the Blues with some buying power, they have begun to target some big-name players for a January move and Shevchenko heads the list.
Shevchenko is currently back in the Ukraine with Dynamo Kiev after a failed stint with Chelsea where he found himself back with AC Milan whom he joined in 1999 but he could now return to the Premier League in what would be a shock move.
Birmingham are said to be keen on a new striker and the 33-year old seems to fit the bill despite having a tough time in England's top flight when he was at Stamford Bridge.
It has been reported that Yeung is prepared to break Birmingham's wage structure to sign Shevchenko on a lucrative deal.
