Birmingham defender Ridgewell delighted with goal in Spurs draw

Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell was delighted to get on the scoresheet in their 1-1 draw with Tottenham.

Ridgewell's stoppage time equaliser against Spurs saw him notch his second goal of the season.

"It was nice for me to get the goal and the equaliser," he told bcfc.com. "(Michael) Dawson had headed everything all game but for the goal he's just missed it and I've thought 'I'm in here!'

"I was just grateful to get the chance.

"In training I always try and push up to get the last goal and this time it paid off although I saw it on the replay and it almost hit the post. But I do feel confident in front of goal and if I get a chance hopefully I can finish them.

"It's one thing I'm trying to get more goals.

"I think I scored six in one season for Villa and hopefully I can kick on from this now."
