Birmingham chief Dunford accepts long battle to pack St Andrews

New Birmingham City chief executive Michael Dunford accepts there's a long way to go to have St Andrews packed every week.

Another round of ticket price-slashing has earned the new board more favour and Dunford, the CEO, said that they wouldn't rest until St Andrew's was packed again.

He told the Birmingham Mail: "We should be bulging at the seams in the Premiership," he said. "But that's not going to happen overnight.

"It should be a culmination of supporters believing what we say, seeing something positive on the pitch and then there would be no telling where this club could go to.

"It's the second biggest city in the country Birmingham. It could have two clubs in Europe, couldn't it, and sustain that quite easily.

"But there is a lot of hard work to be done.

"However, I've got a really good feeling about this. And that's got to spill over to the supporters."
