Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is reluctant to bring in any big-name signings in January.
McLeish has told Birmingham owner Carson Yeung that signing "galacticos" next month could wreck City's brilliant form.
"I don't think we have to go for a big galatico name and upset the dressing room," said McLeish.
"It's OK saying you've got a lot of money to spend but it's bringing the right characters in and maybe not taking too big a leap in terms of the superstar, the galactico, coming in on a lot of money and a big transfer fee.
"It's difficult to get the right players in, to keep the momentum going, to try and keep the club building towards the future."
