Birmingham boss McLeish happy to work with Yu

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish says he can handle Sammy Yu shadowing him on the training ground.

Hong Kong tycoon Carsen Yeung has posted Yu, the club's new vice-president of football, to Premier League Brum's training HQ following his £80million takeover.

McLeish and Yu, a former coach of Hong Kong, are already working together on transfer targets. But McLeish said: "It's unusual for me to have a board member at the training ground.

"He's football director and he's liaison between myself and Carson.

"That's fine - I'm comfortable with that. We get on well and have discussed some names of players.

"But I have to also see if I have first-choice then I will point Sammy in that direction."
