Birmingham City have accepted a bid from Southampton for Che Adams.

The Daily Mail says Adams has said farewell to his Birmingham City team-mates on Saturday after Southampton made an improved £16million bid.

The Premier League side have been pursuing Adams since January, offering £12m and £14m to no avail.

They had also started to discuss other targets but opted to make their improved offer this week and Birmingham have agreed to let Adams go.

The 22-year-old, who scored 22 goals last season, was informed of the news overnight and was at Birmingham's training ground on Saturday to say his goodbyes to staff and friends at the club's Wast Hills training ground.
