Former England boss Sam Allardyce has described the idea of the Three Lions hiring a foreign coach as unacceptable.
Allardyce, who had one of the shortest reigns as England boss in history, was speaking about the future of the national team.
The Three Lions may not be able to convince Gareth Southgate to sign a new contract to take them to the next Euros or World Cup.
“No, it can't happen, not again," Allardyce told Sky Sports.
“I just think it is unacceptable. There's enough qualifying managers and enough British coaches in this country to pick the right man."
Allardyce added: “How successful were they [previously]?
“I know where [the debate] has come from because the women's team won it with a Dutch manager.
“It's detrimental to the whole of what we have in this country if you don't go and pick a British manager."
