Big chance! Aston Villa recall Jake Walker from Alvechurch ahead of Liverpool FA Cup tie

Aston Villa have recalled Jake Walker from his loan spell at Alvechurch FC ahead of tonight's FA Cup tie with Liverpool.

With the game to go ahead, Under-23s coach Mark Delaney is set to manage a team of youngsters against Jurgen Klopp's Premier League champions.

And they have recalled Walker from his temporary spell away from the club to boost their ranks.

The 20-year-old right-back joined the Southern League Premier Central side in October but is now back at Villa after Dean Smith's side made a request to terminate his loan early.

An update from Alvechurch on social media confirmed: "Jake has been a pleasure to work with and absolutely class for us.

"We wish him well on his return to the Villans."

The game will go ahead with Villa prepared to play the kids after several senior players tested positive for coronavirus and were forced out due to local protocols.
