As many as five Premier League big spenders are in contact with Barcelona about a deal for Philippe Coutinho.

Currently on-loan with Bayern Munich, Coutinho has been transfer-listed by Barca with the need for a quick sale this month to meet budget targets.

Sport says Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle United are all in contact, while Le 10 Sport reports Arsenal and Manchester City are also in the running.

Barca would be willing to sell Coutinho for €70m, or agree to a part-swap for the value of €90m.

However, the asking price is proving too steep for the clubs in contact, so forcing Barca to consider alternatives. Such options include a high price loan or a loan including an obligation to buy.
