Besiktas have turned down an offer from West Ham for Gary Medel.

They ave seen a £6.5million bid for ex-Cardiff hardman Medel rejected by Besiktas.

The Turkish club have snubbed the Hammers' opening bid, but Manuel Pellegrini is desperate to add a little steel to his midfield.

Besiktas are in financial crisis at the moment, but have refused to sell the Chilean star on the cheap.

West Ham will have to bid much more if they want to land Medel, 31, according to reports in Turkey.
