Besiktas take tough stance with West Ham flop Tore

Gokhan Tore will cost West Ham United £2.5million if they want to get rid of him.

The Turkish winger joined the Hammers on loan from Besiktas in the summer but the East London club are ready to cut him after failing to impress prior to suffering a thigh injury.

However, Besiktas chairman Fikret Orman says the Istanbul giants will not pay West Ham the loan fee back if the player happens to return to the Vodafone Arena in January.

"We will take Tore back in January on one condition — we won't pay West Ham back the £2.5million loan money for him," said Orman.

"Gokhan wants to come back to Besiktas. We will only agree if they agree over the loan payment. And they are paying his (£40,000-a-week) wages in full."

Tore has played just eight matches for Slaven Bilic's side meaning West Ham have so far paid around £400,000 per game for the 24-year-old.
