Turkish powerhouse Besiktas have set their sights on Chelsea's Jon Obi Mikel after their bid to lure Liverpool midfielder Lucas to Istanbul fell through.
The Daily Mail is reporting Besiktas' pursuit of Lucas stalled after Brendan Rodgers vetoed the proposed loan deal, following an injury to Reds captain Jordan Henderson.
In the absence of Henderson, Lucas returned to Liverpool's starting line-up for their 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Monday night.
It is understood Besiktas have now turned their attention to Mikel, who is expected to receive limited first team opportunities at Stamford Bridge this season, especially if Chelsea land Juventus star Paul Pogba.
