Bernardo Silva: Man City players don't get recognition they deserve

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva claims that his teammates do not always get the recognition they deserve.

City have put in an impressive few years, winning the Premier League twice in the past two campaigns, while they are second place at present.

European glory has eluded them, but Silva still thinks more individual honours should be coming their way considering their efforts as a team.

He told The Telegraph: "Kevin de Bruyne should have won the [PFA Player of the Year award] two years ago - he was clearly the best player in the league that season. It is a fair process, but I can't understand why City players don't get the recognition they deserve."

Silva also spoke about City's upcoming European ban, which is going to be decided on appeal.

He added: "Of course, what happens with UEFA is an important matter. No one knows what is going to happen, so we must only think about what we can control now.

"What we can control is to play the competition in the best possible way. We must put all of our energy into trying to win the Champions League.

"I think all of the players are with the club and support what they are saying. We will try to do our best this year and not worry about anything else."
