Bernardo Silva admits fear motivated Man City against Liverpool

Bernardo Silva admits Manchester City were motivated by fear in Thursday night's 2-1 win over Liverpool.

City reduced their gap to the league leaders to four points, thanks to Leroy Sane's superb strike after Roberto Firmino levelled for the visitors.

And Silva says the prospect of going 10 points behind the Reds motivated his teammates.

He said: "We knew that if we lost it would almost be over because 10 points is a lot.

"Now, four points, we believe it is possible, knowing the Premier League is a very tough competition.

"The pressure was a little bit more onto us. We are used to that kind of pressure.

"We got three very important points against a fantastic team."
