Bernardo: Portugal want to beat Uruguay for Danilo

Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva has insisted his side are determined to beat Uruguay at the World Cup.

Their defender Danilo Pereira suffered a broken rib in training, which means he is out for their remaining two group stage matches.

However, Portugal will not let that loss deter them, as Silva states they will seek to beat Uruguay for their injured teammate.

Asked about the matter by reporters, Silva said: “We want to dedicate this win to Danilo because he is a fantastic player and person.

“That is why we would like to do it for him.

“But we have a strong arsenal of weapons and we will be ready to play against anyone in this tournament."
