Begiristain confirms Man City planning transfers for 'strange window'

Manchester City chief Txiki Begiristain is confident the club can make the relevant signings in the transfer window.

While Txiki spoke about the complexities and strangeness of the transfer window that will run into October, he believes City are well positioned to improve manager Pep Guardiola's squad.

Reports in England have suggested a centre-back is a priority, with the team leaking far too many goals for Guardiola's liking in the Premier League this season.

"We are working a lot, we have to be ready," Begiristain told the club's website.

"It will be a strange window because people have to move fast, we have to bring players who can improve our squad but also it means that maybe someone can leave.

"It will be strange also because we have the Champions League so we have to wait to move forward until the Champions League is finished.

"We might have less time than ever but we'll have time to make the changes we need to improve the squad."
