The agent of Steven Bergwijn admits a Facetime chat with Jose Mourinho convinced him about moving to Tottenham last week.

Fulco van Kooperen, speaking with De Volkskrant, revealed Mourinho spoke with Bergwijn last Sunday ahead of his move from PSV Eindhoven being wrapped up.

"Steven was impressed, you suddenly see Mourinho on your phone. He knows that Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Memphis Depay have worked with him. But Stevie did not ask them for their opinion, he already had a good feeling with Mourinho," Van Kooperen said.

"Moreover, Mourinho knew Steven's qualities, he explained his playing style for Tottenham Hotspur. Mourinho also said that partly due to the upcoming European Championships, it is a good time for Steven to develop further in the Premier League. He is ready."
