Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov says Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone shouldn't bother with the criticism of Jurgen Klopp.

The Liverpool manager took aim at Simeone's tactics after Atletico dumped the title holders out of the Champions League this week.

But Berbatov told Betfair: "Simeone doesn't have to care what Klopp says and focus on his methods.

"Jürgen was wrong to criticize Atlético for being defensive. It is up to Simeone which style he wants for his team. Cholo's criticism must slip. Liverpool knew perfectly well how Atlético could play and even then they couldn't beat them.
