Benteke does not fit in at Liverpool - Carragher

Jamie Carragher believes that Christian Benteke does not suit the style Jurgen Klopp wants to employ at Liverpool.

Benteke was once again snubbed in favour of Roberto Firmino as the man to lead the line for Liverpool for the clash against Manchester United on Sunday and the Belgian striker was only introduced into the game with 10 minutes remaining.

Ex-Reds defender Carragher has now stated his belief that Benteke is consistently overlooked due to the fact that the former Aston Villa star does not provide the movement manager Klopp wants to see from his strikers.

Carragher said on Sky Sports: "All the standout performances under Jurgen Klopp have been without Christian Benteke, he uses Roberto Firmino even though he's not an out-and-out centre-forward.

"Benteke doesn't seem to fit in how the manager wants to play. There's not enough movement."
