The Benteke brothers have made history at Crystal Palace.

Christian Benteke and his younger brother Jonathan made history on Saturday when they both appeared for Crystal Palace at Middlesbrough, reports the Croydon Advertiser.

The younger of the two siblings – 21-year-old Jonathan – replaced his older brother Christian, 25, with just seven minutes remaining at the Riverside, making history by being the first Belgian brothers to appear in the Premier League.

The Benteke brothers were the first siblings to play for Palace since Portuguese pair Jose Fonte and Rui Fonte played together in 2009.
