Benitez identifies 2 signings for Newcastle takeover

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has identified two signings to be made once the club's sale goes through.

The Daily Express says Benitez has targeted his first two transfer targets if the takeover of the Magpies by The Bin Zayed Group is completed.

Benitez is out of contract next month but is keen to stay with the club but is seeking assurances on a number of issues before he puts pen to paper.

In the meantime he is working on a list of potential signings to strengthen his squad with Venezuelan international Jan Hurtado at the top of his shopping list.

Hurtado, 19, plays in Argentina for Gimnasia La Plata is rated at around £7 million and is also attracting the interest of a number of Italian sides.

Meanwhile Benitez is in the hunt for a new goalkeeper and is weighing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Kevin Trapp who is being touted for a move this summer.

Trapp impressed on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt and remains a long way down the pecking order in the French capital and could fall even further if David de Gea signs.
