Rafa Benitez has told Newcastle fans that striker Yoshinori Muto will be a success story at the club.

Muto scored his first goal for the club in the 3-2 defeat to Manchester United.

And Benitez believes it is the first of many goals for Muto for the Magpies, who are currently bottom of the Premier League.

Benitez told the Chronicle: "Muto is an overseas player. We expected him to make a difference and yeah he will.

"He has to improve his English but the understanding with the team-mates is there.

"His work-rate is magnificent. Every training session he is closer to starting games.

"Hopefully he can give us what we need which is a bit of pace and to be more dynamic in attack."
