Inter Milan boss Rafa Benitez hailed the character of his team in their Super Cup victory over AS Roma.
John Arne Riise had given Roma the lead, but Goran Pandev and a Samuel Eto'o brace overturned the result for a 3-1 victory.
"I am very happy. The team conceded, but showed character and fought back. It is a trophy the players won for the fans, for the club and they did well," he told RAI after the final whistle at San Siro.
"I liked the reaction and they worked hard right to the end, even if we're not as sharp right now."
His next test is on Friday against Atletico Madrid for the European Super Cup.
"The tempo will be faster in that tie, but we will also have another week of training behind us to improve our sharpness.
"Clearly this was our first official game and it wasn't easy in this heat, especially with many players who have just come back from international duty."
