Stoke City are planning a move for Uruguayan international Maxi Pereira.
Pereira's contract at Benfica is set to expire at the end of June and although the Portuguese giants have offered the defender a renewal, he is said to be weighing up his options.
As a result, a host of clubs have expressed their interest in signing Pereira and now according to the Stoke Sentinel, the Potters have entered the race to sign the 31-year old.
Stoke are currently looking for a new right-back and manager Mark Hughes is said to have identified the Uruguay centurion as his primary target.
