Benfica coach Verissimo on Liverpool clash: Our fans can make it a great European night

Benfica coach Nelson Verissimo insists they can match Liverpool tonight.

Benfica and Liverpool meet tonight in the first-leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.

Verissimo said, "We have to recognise that Liverpool are a team with great collective and individual competence, with a great coach, and that will force us to be at a very high level in both games. It will be a complicated tie, but we believe we can divide it and, as I said with Ajax, it will be 50/50.

"A very difficult match awaits us, but being at our level, we can suppress Liverpool's strengths. Like any team, they have weaknesses that we can take advantage of, based on our defensive process, in which we will have to be very competent.

"It will be difficult, but we can share the game and tomorrow [Tuesday] we will be able to count on our audience, which will certainly be able to leverage our team for a great European night."
