Benfica coach Jorge Jesus: Jota Liverpool success good for Portuguese football

Benfica coach Jorge Jesus is full of praise for Liverpool striker Diogo Jota.

Jota has been a revelation for the Reds since his October move from Wolves.

And fellow Portuguese Jorge Jesus declared: "Diogo Jota is one of those athletes who started from scratch, they didn't have the facility to start with the greats, and they kept going up until they got to where they got.

"Last year he was a surprise in the English league and now he has reached the best team in the world, who won all last year, and I was one of their victims in the Club World Cup (with Flamengo).

"When you go to Liverpool and you play despite having Salah, Mané and Firmino you have to be a great player. It's good for Portuguese football, for the National Team and for Fernando Santos."
