Benfica coach Jorge Jesus blasts 'very ungrateful' Man City star Bernardo

Benfica coach Jorge Jesus has blasted Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Jorge Jesus gave Bernardo his debut at Benfica and is angry that the midfielder is now calling for president Luis Felipe Vieira to be replaced.

"For many years I never wanted to talk about Bernardo Silva, because he has also screwed with me for many years. It's okay with me. Now he does it with the club president who helped him grow, who continues to provide good conditions for young people to go out to better clubs, which was the case with him. That's very ungrateful," snapped Jorge Jesus.

"There are many shortcomings that a man can have, but the worst thing is to be ungrateful. You may have another idea, but you cannot be ungrateful.

"It was I who added Bernardo Silva to the team. He asked me: 'Mister, what are your thoughts on me? I want to know if I will play'. I said, 'If you play, what do you mean? Explain to me ... Nico (Gaitan) goes out and you play? Salvio goes out and you play? What do you want me to do?' Silva said: 'I have a contract to leave, I will earn 20 times more and I need to help my family. I need the coach to let me go'. I replied: 'Talk to the president then, it's not me (who decides)'.

"If he listens to me, let him say that this is the truth, it was not because I put him on the left. I say this to you after all these years because he was ungrateful to the President of Benfica."
