The former Tottenham defender is out of contract and free to move clubs this window.

Record in Portugal claims Vertonghen and PSG star Edinson Cavani could be two free agent signings by Benfica this window.

33-year-old Vertonghen has been linked with Inter Milan, AC Milan and Ajax.

Cavani is set to pen a two year deal, although the talks are still ongoing as his wage is a sticking point.
