Ben Davies has been assured of his future at Liverpool.

The Athletic says Davies has been told that he does have a future at Liverpool beyond this season.

Despite being snapped up from Preston North End on the final day of the winter window, the 25-year-old centre-back has yet to be picked for his Reds debut with Jurgen Kopp currently preferring Nat Phillips and youngster Rhys Williams at the heart of defence.

However, it's emerged Davies has been told that he is still wanted at Liverpool, and may have a role to play next season.
