West Germany World Cup winner Franz Beckenbauer says Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is getting closer to Manuel Neuer.
However, Beckenbauer maintains Bayern Munich keeper Neuer remains Germany's No1.
Der Kaiser said: "Ter Stegen has caught up a lot but has benefited from Manuel Neuer's injury.
"Neuer will pull himself together to be number one, I trust him.
"But Ter Stegen will not give up."
