Bayern Munich star Ribery no longer interested in Real Madrid move

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery says interest in moving to Real Madrid is now over.

Ribery's future had been the subject of intense speculation for a long time before he signed a new long-term deal with Bayern back in May.

The contract extension brought an end to many rumours connecting Ribery with some of Europe's top clubs, and he has now made it clear that nothing has changed.

Reports had resurfaced of possible interest from Real, and Ribery understands that Jose Mourinho does hold him in high regard.

However, the France playmaker maintains that he is happy at the Allianz Arena and will not be going anywhere.

"Yes, (with Real Madrid it's over)," Ribery told Kicker. "I am very pleased to have signed with Bayern Munich until 2015.

"Munich has always been a great club for me, it's like a family here.

"I know that Mr Mourinho likes me and appreciates the way I play, but what is important is that I was convinced the best thing to do was to extend (my contract)."
