Liverpool are reportedly preparing a £37million bid for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze.
Gotze confirmed he will not be leaving the Bundesliga club during the January window, but refused to rule out the possibility of making the switch to Anfield in the summer.
Gotze played under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for five seasons at Borussia Dortmund.
It is understood the 23-year-old wants to meet with Carlo Ancelotti – who will take over from Pep Guardiola as Bayern manager next season – before making a decision.
"I can definitely confirm that I will not be leaving the club this winter," Gotze said.
"I have a contract until 2017, I'm happy. But of course, what could happen beyond the summer makes you think.
"I would love to work under Carlo Ancelotti. Toni Kroos has told me only good things. Under Klopp I learnt a lot. He is a smashing coach."
