Bayern Munich president Hoeness: We'd never pay Juventus fee for Ronaldo

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness says there was never a chance of competing with Juventus for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Juve paid a club record €112m to sign Ronaldo from Real Madrid, but Hoeness says such a figure doesn't make sense for a player of the Portuguese's age.

He told BILD: "He is 33 years old and for us he would have cost 100 million euros.

"But we would have done it with our eyes closed for that amount if he were 24 years old."

So far this season, Ronaldo has played 18 games between Serie A and the Champions League, scoring 11 goals and distributing seven assists.
