Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness admits he considered hiring Jurgen Klopp over ten years ago.

Bayern and Klopp's Liverpool will meet in the Champions League next week.

And Hoeness recalled: "Personally, I really appreciate Jürgen Klopp.

"I had already arranged a cooperation with him many years ago, until we then committed Jürgen Klinsmann (in 2008).

"I have already expressed that I have great respect for him and his work."

Asked if Klopp could yet be appointed, Hoeness added: "We are not thinking about it at the moment.

"We have a coach with whom we are very satisfied. We live in the here and now and we should leave it that way."
