Thomas Muller will miss Bayern Munich's Champions League last-16 tie with Liverpool after his two-match ban was upheld on Monday.
Muller received the suspension after he was sent off in Bayern's final group stage clash against Ajax for a reckless challenge Nicolas Tagliafico.
The German did not appear to intentionally try to hurt Tagliafico and Bayern were confident in their appeal.
However, UEFA have upheld the ban, meaning he will miss both legs of the tie against Liverpool.
The first leg will be played at Anfield on February 19.
