Bayern Munich are monitoring German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan's situation at Manchester City.

The central midfielder is not likely to be offered a new contract by the Citizens, per TZ.

While he does have a year remaining on his deal, Gundogan may be sold this summer as City target a new central midfielder.

The source adds that if Gundogan is on the market, Bayern will show interest in his signature.

The former Borussia Dortmund star has been a key figure for City under Pep Guardiola in recent seasons.

Not only can Gundogan play deeper in midfield, but he has shown a knack of scoring goals when played further forward.
