Bayern Munich goalkeeper Fruchtl rejected January Liverpool move

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl rejected an offer from Liverpool last year, it has been revealed.

Sport1 says Liverpool approached Bayern in December with a phone call to enquire as to whether they could bring in Fruchtl, promising the player he would be Alisson Becker's No.2 ahead of current back-up goalkeeper Adrian.

Fruchtl, however, turned this down as he is only willing to go out to a team where he is guaranteed to be a regular starter.

It remains to be seen whether the youngster moves on at the end of the season, but after coming through the academy at Bayern he is desperate to show what he can do and break into the first-team squad for his boyhood club.

Alisson has started in 18 of Liverpool's 26 games in the Premier League so far this season, with Adrian deputising for the other eight while the Brazilian was injured.
