Bayern Munich have fired goalkeeper Manuel Neuer's best friend Toni Tapalovic.

Tapolovic was serving as the goalkeeping coach at Bayern since 2011.

He has remained in the job for so long in part due to his excellent relationship with Neuer.

However, German media reports of him leaking information may have led to his sacking.

"As our goalkeeping coach, Toni was involved in the successes of recent years," Bayern sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, said in a statement.

“We would like to thank him for that.

“Differences, particularly over the way we worked together, have now led to us going our separate ways. We wish Toni Tapalovic all the best for the future."
