Manchester United have been offered defender Jerome Boateng by Bayern Munich.

Jose Mourinho contemplated a move for the centre-back during his last summer in charge at Old Trafford but club executives vetoed the move.

Bayern wanted £50million for Boateng but United were only willing to pay half that amount, says the Mirror.

The German has fallen down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena, now the fourth-choice centre-half for Niko Kovac.

Bayern are aware that the 31-year-old's value is only set to plummet and want to sell before his contract expires in June 2021.
