Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick has moved to shut down rumours Arsenal are close to signing Jerome Boateng.

The Gunners have reportedly prioritised the signing of the German centre-back this month.

But it comes as news to Flick, who plans to keep the 31-year-old.

Responding to Arsenal's interest in Boateng, Flick said: "Jerome is a Bayern player.

"He has trained well during the winter break. I can't wait to see what the next few weeks will be like.

"I'm not worrying if he'll leave the club or not. I can't imagine that at the moment."
