Bayern Munich marketing chief Jorg Wacker says a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo would not have worked for the German giants.
Bayern were interested in the former Real Madrid star before he chose to join Juventus.
Wacker says signing Ronaldo would not have been good business.
"In terms of marketing it would not work, maybe with other clubs, but not here because we believe that a footballer's brand cannot be higher in value than a club," he explained.
"Ronaldo left Real Madrid for Juventus, but maybe he will disappear from here a little later."
After nine seasons at Real, Ronaldo moved to Juve for €105m.
