Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has refuted speculation linking Manchester United with Leroy Sane.

The Red Devils are hoping to improve their forward line before the close of the transfer window on September 1.

According to The Mirror, they put in an inquiry for former Manchester City star Sane, while Liverpool have also been linked to the German speedster.

However, Salihamidzic told Sky90: "There's no truth to that.

"He's an important player for us.

"There [is] nothing to say about that at all."
