Bayern Munich chief Rumminegge angry with Kovac over Sane comments

Bayern Munich's Karl-Heinz Rumminegge is unhappy with his manager's comments on Leroy Sane.

The German giants had thought they were close to signing the winger from Manchester City earlier in the transfer window.

However, the asking price from City was deemed excessive, which meant a transfer was not possible.

Bayern coach Kovac had said that he was confident about signing Sane, which has upset Rumminegge.

"I did not like the statement, so I do not hide it," he said to ZDF.

"We have a very good relationship with Manchester City - our former coach Pep Guardiola is coach there.

"Sane is still under contract there. Neither optimistic nor pessimistic statements continue to help us.

"We have to do our job, the coach has to do his job and if we all do the job well then we will have a successful season."
