Bayern Munich chief Rummenigge pulls back from Sane public pursuit

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has pulled back from their public pursuit of Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.

Rummenigge has spoken openly about their interest in the Germany international.

But last night, he insisted: "I don't want to say anything about the players who are under contract with other clubs or cause conflict with Manchester City. There will be a transfer window, but we don't have to finalise it in February.

"We will have to be patient. An interest for Leroy Sané? I don't want to deny it or confirm it. We will do our job and I am confident that we will have a very competitive team on the field next season."
