Bayern Munich chief Rummenigge: I want to bring back Xabi

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge wants to bring Xabi Alonso back to the club.

Xabi is currently coaching inside Real Madrid's youth system.

"He's training as a coach in Spain, it seems he will coach the Under-19s team at Real Madrid next season," Rummenigge commented.

"I think we have to make an effort to bring him back to Bayern at some point.

"The best midfielder that we've had in recent years in the middle was Xabi Alonso.

"He wasn't the quickest, but he was the best strategically and the most intelligent I've ever seen in our midfield.

"He was a marvellous player, who speaks four languages and German fluently.

"He was a real personality.

"I'd like him to return to Bayern one day, he's a true gentleman."
